And with this sentence "I recently watched The Accountant on an airplane, and like with most movies I’ve watched on planes, I loved it even as I missed entire chunks of dialogue to stare at the screen showing Emma. (2020) four rows down" you officially became my favorite movie critic.

I had read the Hate Read Letterboxd article when you shared it on your main Substack account, but I inexplicably didn't realize you also wrote it. Either way it explains why you haven't updated your Letterboxd account in a while! I was toying with making my own account (at the very least to keep track of reviewers I like) until I read your piece; I say that as a genuine compliment!

love the rant but let's be honest -- at the very least your "Wick model" is actually the "Bale/Dark Knight" model, with many other worthy predecessors as well.

I am a huge Keanu fan! And I love 2/4 of the John Wick movies—most of the derivations fall short for me. I suppose I could have called it the TITUS ANDRONICUS model but to my knowledge Shakespeare never had gun fu
